In light of recent disasters in Haiti, Qwest Arena and the Idaho Steelheads are teaming with KBCI-TV and the Citadel Radio Group to raise money for the Red Cross?s International Relief Fund. During the second intermission of Steelhead games on Friday and Saturday night, Red Cross volunteers will take to the aisles of Qwest Arena and pass donation buckets among the fans. One hundred percent of the money collected will go to the Red Cross?s International Relief Fund, which is utilized when disasters like the Haitian earthquake devastate other countries. ?We want it to be easy,? Steelheads President Eric Trapp said. ?If fans have a couple extra dollars to throw into the bucket, we encourage them to do so to help people around the world.? Each of the volunteers will be wearing a Red Cross shirt or vest. Donations should not be given to anyone not sporting the Red Cross logo. KBCI and Citadel are important promotional partners of this event. KBCI-TV (channel 2) is the CBS affiliate serving the Treasure Valley and the Citadel Radio Group has six stations in the area ? KQFC-FM, KIZN-FM, KZMG-FM, KKGL-FM, KBOI-AM, and KTIK-AM. Idaho hosts the Las Vegas Wranglers Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in Boise.
