BOISE, ID – The Idaho Steelheads (@Steelheads), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the Dallas Stars (@DallasStars), and Steelheads Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations Everett Sheen announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Dylan Gratton from the Trenton Ironhawks in exchange for future considerations.
Gratton, 23, prepares for his first full ECHL season after signing with the Utah Grizzlies last season fresh out of college.
The defenseman posted 10 points (1G, 9A) in 19 games with Utah, registering his first point with an assist in his debut on February 25 against the Tahoe Knight Monsters before scoring his first goal on March 6 against the Bloomington Bison.
Prior to signing with Utah, the 6-foot blueliner skated in 22 games at the University of Vermont during the 2025-26 season, collecting an assist. He spent the 2024-25 campaign at the University of Nebraska Omaha, where he grabbed 14 points (2G, 14A) in 36 games and began his collegiate career with two seasons at Penn State, amassing 24 points (5G, 19A) over 69 games.
The Pottstown, PA native also played three USHL seasons, spending one year each with the Muskegon Lumberjacks, Youngstown Phantoms, and Sioux City Musketeers. Over 153 USHL contests, Gratton notched 44 points (8G, 36A).
The Idaho Steelheads kick off their 29th season on October 16th at New Mexico and will host the Allen Americans on October 23rd for their home opener.
