Dallas reassigns top prospect to Idaho

(Boise, ID) ? The NHL?s Dallas Stars have reassigned explosive forward Sergei Korostin from Texas of the American Hockey League to Idaho of the ECHL. Korostin, one of Dallas? top prospects, arrived in Boise late Thursday night and will be in uniform Friday when the Steelheads take on the Stockton Thunder at Qwest Arena. He will wear jersey number 13. The 20-year-old Korostin, a native of Prokopievsk, Russia, had 14 points (nine goals, five assists) in 32 games with the AHL?s Texas Stars prior to his reassignment to Idaho. He had 29 points in 36 games as a member of the Ontario Hockey League?s Peterborough Petes last season. The OHL is one of the top junior hockey leagues in North America. Korostin was a 3rd-round selection of the Dallas Stars in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Steelheads wrap up their three-game series against Stockton on Saturday, January 2.
