Fan-favorite and former Idaho Steelheads enforcer Jeremy Yablonski has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the NHL?s Ottawa Senators. The Senator organization also signed Brandon Svendsen to an amateur tryout agreement. Yablonski?s deal is with the parent club and the AHL?s Binghamton Senators, where he played last season. The 29-year-old forward has had three separate stints in Idaho?in 2001-02 (69 games), 2005-06 (3 games), and 2006-07 (41 games). In all, Yablonski has five goals, five assists, and 491 penalty minutes with the Steelheads.Yablonski has maintained an offseason home in the Boise area and remains among the most-popular players in franchise history. Svendsen, 25, was a late-season addition to the Steelheads this past spring. In eleven regular-season games, he put up 19 points (4 G, 15 A) with Idaho.The 2009-2010 regular season for the Idaho Steelheads opens on October 16, at home, against the Stockton Thunder.
