Coyote's ugly in Boise

For the second straight week it was Terrance Sanders electrifying the crowd and changing the momentum of the game as the Boise Burn improve to 8-2 with an impressive 67-48 victory over West division rival Central Valley. The Burn opened the game with a 4 down defensive stop of the Coyotes and the offense responded with a Taylor Tharp 9 yard run (missed P.A.T.) and the early 6-0 lead. The Coyotes took their first and only lead of the night on a Phil Goodman 4 yard TD run putting the Coyotes up 7-6. The lead was short lived thanks to Terrance Sanders who returned the ensuing kickoff 56 yards for a TD, his league best 6th of the year, giving Boise the 13-7 lead. Ryan O?Hara connected with John Roberson on a 41 yard TD tying the game at 13 after the first quarter. Boise outscored the Coyote?s 27-7 in the second quarter. Damian Walker (Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Game) gave this team the lead for good with a yard run. On the ensuing kick off, Ernie James had a net recovery for TD and making the lead 27-13. Roberson, second TD of the game, an 18 yard pass from O?Hara, cut the lead to 7, but a pair of former Coyotes put the lead out of reach. Walker scored his second TD from 3 yards out and Jomo Wilson took a screen pass and took it 16 yards for the score and the 40-20 lead at the half. Central Valley outscored Boise 28-27 in the second half, but it was Walker who capped off a career night in the final 30 minutes of play. Walker scored on a 1 yard TD run in the 3rd quarter and a 2 yarder in the 4th giving him 4 TD?s on the night and 9 on the season. Walker?s career night took the pressure of QB Taylor Tharp who was held to 155 yards through the air and 3 TD?s thanks to a bruised thumb. Boise (8-2) hits the road next Saturday to take on the Tri-Cities Fever at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, WA. The Burn are 2-0 vs. the Fever this season and leads the overall series 5-2. Kick off is at 8:00pm (MT). Game Notes: Jerard Rabb?s 5 yd TD in the 3rd quarter earned him Big Game Catch of the Game honors. Rabb finished with 5 catches for 75 yards and 2 TD?s. Levi Madarieta recorded his 6th interception of the season, tying Teammate Terrance Sanders for the team lead. With their 8th win, Boise ties a season high in wins with 6 games left to play.
