Two players have played in every one of the Boise Burn?s 39 games over the past two and a half seasons. Only one will make it to 40. The team announced Wednesday that it has placed wide receiver Casey Allen on the injured reserve list with a second-degree MCL sprain. The injury leaves linebacker and Weiser, Idaho, native Levi Madarieta all alone in the consecutive games played category. Burn head coach Brent Winter announced that he has replaced his star receiver with former Boise State wide receiver Tanyon Bissell, who was assigned to the team Wednesday by the af2 league offices. Allen (6?3? 220-Linfield College) was injured in the second quarter of the Burn?s 77-28 victory over the Tri-Cities Fever this past Saturday night. Following a 6 yard catch, Allen was tackled by former Idaho Vandal Jo?Artis Ratti, who eventually caused the injury after teammate and linebacker Chris Hemphill speared him. He was down for nearly a minute before limping off the field. He is the franchise?s all-time leader in receptions (228), receiving yards (2,718), receiving touchdowns (53), total touchdowns (61) and total points (378). He will be out at least four weeks. Bissell (5?10? 195-Boise State) was a 4 year letter-winner for the Broncos from 2005-2008. While playing on ?the blue,? the Bozeman, Montana, native was used in a supporting role as a wide receiver, running back and quarterback. Bissell finished his career with 14 catches for 158 yards and 1 TD as receiver, 12 carries for 67 yards on the ground and he completed 4 of 7 passes for 141 yards an 3 scores through the air. Bissell, who will have some big shoes to fill in replacing Allen, says he?s ready for the challenge. ?I am excited and looking forward to be a part of the Boise Burn and hoping to contribute in any way possible.? The Boise Burn (5-2) travel to Stockton, California and will take on the Lightning (2-5) this Saturday, May 23rd at Stockton Arena. Kick off is at 8pm (MT).
