Matchup: Boise Burn (1-0) at Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings (1-1), Saturday, 6 PM Mtn. In the polls: Boise remains 10th in the latest af2 Coaches Poll, Bossier-Shreveport is eighth. Last week: Boise had the week off while Bossier-Shreveport rolled up the game?s final 53 points in a 59-14 romp over Corpus Christi. Get to know? Bossier-Shreveport QB Andrico Hines has faced the Burn before, as quarterback in Spokane in 2007. Hines played in South Georgia in 2008 before moving to Bossier-Shreveport this season. And the Middle Tennessee State product is off to a fast start with the Wings, throwing nine touchdown passes (against just one interception) in the team?s first two games. Good matchup: The proficiency of Hines? passing and the talented receiver tandem of Butchie Ibeh and PJ Berry will be a stern test for Boise?s top-ranked defensive unit. The Burn dominated Tri-Cities in their opener, limiting the Fever to just 158 total yards and intercepting five passes. The secondary of Roshawn Marshall, Terrence Sanders, and Ernie James combined for twelve tackles (two for loss) and two interceptions against the Fever and will need to come up big again for the Burn this weekend. Good news if? Boise?s quarterback tandem of Rudy Carlton and Taylor Tharp improve upon their combined opening-game numbers. It was the first time the team had played or practiced with walls (aside a pregame walk-through) and, at times, it showed as the timing between quarterback and receiver wasn?t as crisp as it could have been. That rhythm will surely improve as the team gets more repetitions in a true arena setting. On the air: The game will be carried live in the Treasure Valley on KGEM radio (1140 AM) with Scott Conklin handling all the play-by-play duties. The game can also be watched live online via Nifty TV at www.boiseburn.com.
