Steelheads Announce Ticket Sales Up; Prices Down

As the Idaho Steelheads continue signing players for the 2008-09 season and make plans to open training camp next month, the team today announced excitement is building amongst fans. Season ticket renewals for the upcoming season are running ahead of last year's pace when the team was coming off its second Kelly Cup Championship. More than 1,500 season tickets have already been renewed for the season, which kicks off on Oct. 18. Idaho Steelheads President Eric Trapp said the team lowered prices on many season tickets in the 5,006-seat Qwest Arena, which he added may be contributing to the increased rate of renewals. ?We understand that some families might be feeling a financial pinch right now and it?s encouraging to see such a positive reaction to our new pricing structure,? Trapp said ?We reduced pricing to help ensure renewals with our valued core customers as well as to attract new fans to our games. Our goal is to provide quality, family entertainment at an affordable price and put a winning team on the ice that our fans can be excited about.? Prices in some areas of Qwest Arena have fallen nearly 40 percent. For example, a season ticket that would have cost $805 in past seasons, now costs $450 meaning, you can sit in the lower bowl for only $12.50 per game. The best way to guarantee the same seat for the 36-game ECHL regular season schedule is to buy season tickets. The Steelheads have plans to fit any budget including ?mini? plans which begin at $150. By purchasing a mini plan, a fan has the opportunity to ?own? the same seat for 12 games and save $66 over the walk-up pricing. The Steelheads also offer flex plans, where fans can purchase a block of ticket vouchers and redeem them for any game in any quantity throughout the season. Flex plans start at $279 and go up to $449, which entitles the owner to padded seats with waiter/waitress seating and offers a savings of $121 off the walk up price. In addition, special group pricing for work/party functions and group fundraising opportunities are available. "With the response being so strong, I encourage our fans to act quickly, as tickets are selling fast," Trapp added. "We want to see everyone here when Coach Derek Laxdal's team takes the ice against Utah next month!" A full seating chart with pricing can be found at www.idahosteelheads.com. Ticket account representatives are available to help fans secure their seats for the upcoming season by calling 383-0080 for more information and seat availability.
