The Boise Burn were looking to Shock the league?s top team in front of a sellout crowd at Spokane Arena, but they fell just short as they fall for a 5th straight time to league?s top team 63-48. The Boise Burn silenced the crowd of 10,590 when Demond Williams returned the opening kick off 57 yards for the early 6-0 lead. On their ensuing possession, Spokane drove down the field and scored on a Kevin McCullough 3 yard TD run tying the game at 6. The Shock would take their first lead of the game 3:20 later when Nick Davila hit Patrick Bugg who made a sensational grab for the 20 yard score (Cutters Catch of the Game) and the 14-7 lead. Casey Allen would tie the game at 14 on his first of 3 TD runs, the first from 11 yards out evening the score at 14. The Spokane Shock outscored Boise 16-14 in the second. Andy Olson scored on a 1 yard TD run and a 6 yard TD pass giving the Shock the 13 point lead 27-14. Royal gill would turn to brian Hernandez to get Boise back in the game. A pair of Hernandez TD?s (6,10) gave Boise the 28-27 lead with 17 seconds left in the half. Brian Jackson?s 38 yard field goal as time expired gave the Shock the 30-28 lead at the break. Etu Molden?s 13 yard TD 2:37 into the 3rd quarter increased Spokane?s lead to 37-28. Casey Allen would score from a yard out to get Boise back within 2 at 44-42. Patrick Bugg scored on a 23 yard strike from Jason Murrieta giving the Shock the 44-35 after 3. Boise made it interesting in the 4th quarter. Down 51-42, Terrance Sanders returned a kick 54 yards for a TD getting the Burn to within 3 at 51-48. Following a Levi Madarieta interception, Boise had the ball first down and goal with a chance to take the lead, but failed on 4 straight plays. Spokane would drive down and score on a Murrieta 1 yard TD run and Tremaine Tyler put the bow on the victory picking off Royal Gill on the final play of the game, returning it 52 yards for the score and the 63-48 victory.
