BOISE, ID – The Idaho Steelheads (@Steelheads), proud ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate of the Dallas Stars (@DallasStars), and Steelheads Head Coach & Director of Hockey Operations Everett Sheen announced today that the club has signed forward Lee Lapid to an ECHL contract for the 2026-27 season.
Lapid, 28, joins the Steelheads after skating 62 games with the Indy Fuel last season, grabbing 34 points (15G, 19A). This season will mark Lapid’s fifth in the ECHL after two campaigns with the Cincinnati Cyclones from 2022-24 and a season with the Kalamazoo Wings in 2024-25 before his stint in Indy. He also played 14 games in Finland’s Liiga for SaiPa during the 2023-24 season, registering two goals.
Overall, the 6-foot-1 right-shot forward has grabbed 130 points (46G, 84A) in 199 ECHL games, also collecting five points (1G, 4A) in 16 playoff games with Cincinnati and Indy.
Prior to professional hockey, Lapid played four seasons of college hockey at Canisius, notching 61 points (30G, 31A) in 97 games.
In his junior career, the Thornhill, ON native skated three seasons for the Toronto Patriots, amassing 90 points (41G, 49A) in 117 games.
The Idaho Steelheads kick off their 29th season on October 16th at New Mexico and will host the Allen Americans on October 23rd for their home opener.
