Boise, ID (4/28/16) –The Idaho Steelheads and the ECHL announced the schedule for the 2016-17 regular season on Thursday afternoon.
The Steelheads will open the season on October 14th with a two-game series at Maverick Center against the Utah Grizzlies. The Steelheads will host their home opener the following week, October 21st at CenturyLink Arena, to kick off a five-game home stand against the Grizzlies and the Reading Royals.
The regular season ends with a three-game series against the Alaska Aces in Anchorage, finishing on April 8th.
The Steelheads will play 47 games against West Division opponents, playing the Colorado Eagles, Rapid City Rush, and the Aces 12 times each. They will face Utah 11 times.
The Steelheads will face two opponents for the first time next season, visiting Norfolk in mid-November, and playing six games, three home and three away, against the Wheeling Nailers. The Adirondack Thunder, formerly the Stockton Thunder, will make their first visit to CenturyLink Arena since relocating to New York, arriving for a three-game set on November 9th. The Reading Royals also appear on the schedule for the first time since 2009.
All Steelheads home games will be on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays again this season, with all games beginning at 7:10 pm.
