Loveland, CO (4/2/16) – Idaho Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Saturday that goaltender Philippe Desrosiers has been recalled to the AHL’s Texas Stars by the Dallas Stars.
Desrosiers, 20, is headed to the AHL for the second time this season, where he is 5-5-0 for Texas with a 2.82 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. The rookie goaltender has made 28 appearances this season for the Steelheads, with a 13-6-6 record to go along with a 2.41 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
Desrosiers earned his first professional shutout on March 12th against the Rapid City Rush. He has not lost in regulation in his last 14 starts for the Steelheads, going 10-0-4 for the longest unbeaten streak of any Steelheads goaltender during the ECHL era.
The native of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec was a second-round draft pick, 54th overall, of the Dallas Stars in the 2013 NHL Draft..
The Steelheads have added Tate Maris to the roster as an emergency back-up goaltender for tonight’s game against the Colorado Eagles.
