Boise, ID (2/24/16) – Idaho Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Wednesday that goaltender Jack Campbell has been recalled to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League by the NHL’s Dallas Stars.
The 24 year-old Campbell went 14-5-1 in 20 starts with the Steelheads since he was reassigned to Idaho on December 27th. Campbell led the ECHL with a 1.68 goals-against average, a .944 save percentage, and was tied for the league lead with four shutouts.
Campbell earned ECHL Goaltender of the Week honors for the weeks of January 18th-24th and February 8th-14th. He was named the ECHL’s Goaltender of the Month for the month of January.
A first-round NHL Draft selection of the Dallas Stars in 2010, Campbell was 3-6-3 this season with AHL Texas prior to his assignment to Idaho, with a goals-against average of 4.27 and a save percentage of .868. Campbell has made 115 starts over the past five seasons with AHL Texas, and one start with the Dallas Stars.
