Boise, ID (2/3/16) – The ECHL announced on Wednesday that Idaho Steelheads goaltender Jack Campbell has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for the month of January.

Campbell went 8-3-0 in January, posting a 1.27 goals-against average and a save percentage of .956 in 11 appearances during the month. Campbell posted three shutouts, including back-to-back 1-0 shutouts on January 2nd and 8th against the Colorado Eagles and Utah Grizzlies. Campbell then held the Alaska Aces scoreless on January 22nd.

Over the course of January, Campbell also had two lengthy shutouts streaks. The Dallas Stars first-rounder held opponents scoreless for 181:21 from January 1st to January 9th, and then for 121:24 from January 16th to January 23rd.

Campbell made nine consecutive starts for the Steelheads between December 30th and January 23rd. In January, Campbell held opponents to one goal or fewer seven times in 11 starts. He was named the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of January 18 to 24th.

The 24-year-old goaltender is 9-3-0 this season with a 1.41 goal-against average and a .952 save percentage. In 19 career ECHL starts over the past two seasons, all with Idaho, Campbell is 14-5-0 with four shutouts, a 1.44 goals-against average and a save percentage of .951.

Campbell was reassigned to the Steelheads by the AHL’s Texas Stars on December 27th. Campbell has made 115 starts over the past five seasons with AHL Texas, and one start with the NHL’s Dallas Stars. Prior to turning pro, Campbell represented Team USA at three straight IIHF World U-20 Championships (2010, 2011 and 2012), winning a gold medal in 2010 and bronze in 2011. He was named the 2011 IIHF World U-20 Championships “Best Goalkeeper” and a tournament all-star.

The Steelheads host the Alaska Aces on Wednesday night at CenturyLink Arena, with puck-drop scheduled for 7:10pm.
