Boise, ID (1/7/16)— The Idaho Steelheads will host the Jayden DeLuca Foundation Jersey Auction on Friday, January 15th and Saturday, January, 16th, when the Steelheads host the Tulsa Oilers at CenturyLink Arena.
Fans will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction during the two-game series to purchase game-used, custom Steelheads jerseys from their favorite players. The jerseys were designed by Sean Jennings, who has designed the jerseys for this event for each of the last three years.
All of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Jayden DeLuca Foundation and St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital to support pediatric cardiac care. Last year, the event brought in just over $19,000.
The Jayden DeLuca Foundation was established in 2008 by Jeremy and Karalie DeLuca after they lost their daughter Jayden to a congenital heart condition. The foundation supports children and their families battling cardiac disease, working to promote scientific and medical research to find cures.
“Jeremy and Karalie have created a wonderful organization that does so much to improve the lives of sick children,” said Steelheads President Eric Trapp. “We are thankful that the Jayden DeLuca Foundation allows us to join in their efforts to help young children and their families in memory of their beautiful daughter, Jayden.”
Bidding will take place on the arena concourse, with the auction closing prior to the third period of Saturday’s game. Winning fans will then have an opportunity to receive their jersey directly from that player following the game.
The Steelheads will also host a Project Filter Autograph Session following Saturday night’s game, giving all fans an opportunity to meet their favorite players and collect autographs.
This is the Steelheads’ second specialty jersey auction this season. The Steelheads have held jersey auctions for fans since 1998, donating over $500,000 dollars to various charities during that time.
Tickets are still available to see the Steelheads take on the Oilers. January 15th is a “Family Fun 4 for $46 Friday,” when fans can purchase four tickets, four Double R Ranch hot dogs, and four Pepsis for $46.
