5) Chris Auger; Brampton Beast

Chris Auger is in the midst of his sixth pro season, but second full campaign in the ECHL. The former Blackhawks draft pick (6th round, 2006) has racked up at least 40 points in three of the last four seasons, the only exception being the 2012-13 season when he only played four games. He’s on that pace once again this season and is doing damage on the man-advantage. Auger has seven power play goals in 30 games this year, doubling his output with the Fort Wayne Komets two years ago when he scored 29 goals but just three on the power play. Auger has already racked up 11 of his 23 points this season on the power play.

4) Derek Nesbitt; Atlanta Gladiators

A former Steelhead comes in at Number 4 on the list, as Derek Nesbitt has netted eight of his 18 goals on the power play, including a power play goal against the Steelheads at CenturyLink Arena on November 6th. Nesbitt already has two power play tallies in the month of January, after having scored just one in a span of 13 games. Nesbitt is on pace for his best offensive season since his year in Idaho, an astronomical offensive season for him in which he scored 30 goals and 81 points. That year, Nesbitt scored 15 power play goals to finish eighth in the ECHL. Can he reach that mark again?

3) Mike Embach; Fort Wayne Komets

This is Embach’s fifth ECHL season, after spending the early part of the year in Sweden. Embach has eight power play goals in 31 games this season, scoring five of them in a nine-game stretch from December 12th to January 1st. Embach has scored 96 regular season goals in his ECHL career, but had only scored 11 of them on the power play entering this season. Embach is playing a more prominent role on the man-advantage this season, and he’s certainly cashing in.

2) Alden Hirschfeld; Toledo Walleye

Alden Hirschfeld is currently with the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins, in large part due to his explosive start to the season on offense with Toledo. Hirschfeld netted eight power play goals in just 27 games. Hirschfeld had 14 goals total before being recalled to the Griffins.  Alden was the finisher, no

1) Jefferson Dahl; Idaho Steelheads

Jefferson Dahl certainly isn’t a one-trick pony, but the Steelheads have been able to turn to him again and again when they needed a power play goal. After putting up a very respectable six power play goals in 41 games during his first ECHL season last year, Dahl now leads the ECHL with nine in 37 games this year. Dahl did not score a power play goal for ten games to start the year, but he exploded from there while playing with line-mates Rob Linsmayer and Emil Molin.. He scored a power play goal in four consecutive games from December 16th to 26th. Dahl has six power play goals in the last 16 games and has accumulated 11 of his 26 points this season on the man advantage.
