Anchorage, AK (1/22/16)— Idaho Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Friday that forward Branden Troock has arrived with the team and will be available for Friday night’s game against the Alaska Aces at Sullivan Arena.
Troock, 21, was assigned to Idaho by the AHL’s Texas Stars on Friday morning.
A fifth round draft pick (134th overall) of the Dallas Stars in 2012, this is Troock’s second full professional season. He has appeared in 20 games with the Texas Stars this season, tallying three goals and ten points in 20 games. Troock was also a Steelhead for five games last season, posting a goal and an assist in that time.
In 75 career pro games, Troock has collected ten goals and 27 points.
The Edmonton, Alberta native played 144 career games in the Western Hockey League before turning pro, all with the Seattle Thunderbirds. He scored 45 goals and 101 points with Seattle.
In an unrelated move, the Texas Stars recalled Steelheads defenseman Zack Kamrass on Thursday.
The Steelheads travel to face the Alaska Aces for three games in three nights this weekend, starting with Friday night’s game at Sullivan Arena. Puck-drop is scheduled for 9:15 MT, with the game available on ECHLTV and on 1350AM KTIK.
