Boise, ID (11/30/15)— The Idaho Steelheads will host their 18th annual Teddy Bear Toss for Tots this Saturday when they take on the Florida Everblades at CenturyLink Arena.
The Teddy Bear Toss for Tots, sponsored by the Steelheads Booster Club and the United States Marine Corps, is an important effort by the Steelheads and their fans to gather stuffed animals for Idaho children, and to make sure that every kid receives something special during the holiday season.
After the Steelheads’ first goal of the game, fans in attendance are encouraged to throw a new, unbreakable, stuffed or plush toy onto the CenturyLink Arena ice. Those toys will be collected by the US Marine Corps and donated to their Toys for Tots campaign.
Fans that do not come with a toy will have the opportunity to purchase one. The Steelheads Booster Club will be selling toys for donation in the lobby of CenturyLink Arena before the game.
“During the Christmas season, it’s wonderful to work together with the Steelheads Booster Club and our servicemen and women in the Marine Corps to do something special for children,” said Steelheads President Eric Trapp. “And as excited as we are to be a part of this effort every year, it’s just as gratifying to see how excited our fans are for this night each year and the support they offer to make it special.”
After the game, fans will have the opportunity to meet the Steelheads players during a Project Filter Team Autograph session.
Puck-drop for Saturday’s game is scheduled for 7:10pm.
Tickets are available for all three games this week between the Steelheads and Everblades, including Friday night’s game when the Steelheads host the Bomber Beanie Cap Give-away, sponsored by Blue Cross of Idaho.
Fans are encouraged to take advantage of a 4-for-$46 Family Fun Friday, with fans receiving four tickets, four Pepsi sodas, and four Double R Ranch Hotdogs for $46. For more information on all Steelheads ticket plans, contact the Idaho Steelheads at 208-383-0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com.
