Boise, ID (12/29/15)— Idaho Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced Tuesday that the Steelheads have acquired forward Torin Snydeman from the Missouri Mavericks in exchange for goaltender Chris Rawlings.
Snydeman, 25, has played 15 games during his first professional season, spending 11 games with the Utah Grizzlies before being dealt to the Mavericks in mid-December. Snydeman posted two goals and six points with Utah and then registered one assist in four games with the Mavericks. The rookie began the season with the Orlando Solar Bears, but did not play a game with the team.
The Massachusetts native played for two seasons at Sacred Heart University and two seasons at Northeastern University, serving as an assistant captain for the Huskies last season. Snydeman collected 19 goals and 47 points in 137 career college games.
Rawlings had joined the Steelheads on Saturday and was with the team for two games, in which he dressed once but did not play.
The Steelheads open a three-game set with the Eagles at CenturyLink Arena on Wednesday night, with puck-drop scheduled for 7:10pm MT. The game is available on radio on 1350AM KTIK and seen on CableOne and ECHLTV.
