Boise, ID (11/09/15)— Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Monday that forward Emil Molin has been recalled by the Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the Idaho Steelheads.
Molin, 22, has been among the Steelheads’ best forwards in his first pro season in North America. The 2011 fourth-round draft pick of the Dallas Stars is tied for second on the team in goals (four) and points (nine). He has played in all 11 games this season for Idaho.
The young Swede had a particularly strong week leading up to his recall, scoring three goals and adding an assist in the Steelheads’ last four games. He tallied two goals against the Atlanta Gladiators on Friday night, the second goal tying the game in the third period and forcing overtime to earn the Steelheads a point in the standings.
Molin is currently on an NHL contract with the Dallas Stars.
The Steelheads are off to Orlando for the first of a nine-game trip to play the Solar Bears, Florida, Colorado, and Rapid City. The Steelheads and Solar Bears face-off Thursday at 5pm MT at Amway Center, the first of three games in three nights for Idaho.
