Orlando, FL (11/12/15)— Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced on Thursday that goaltender Maxime Lagace has joined the Steelheads in Orlando and will be available for Thursday night’s contest against the Orlando Solar Bears at Amway Center.
Lagace, 22, was assigned to the Steelheads by the AHL’s Texas Stars on Thursday morning. The goaltender has a 4-3-0 record in seven appearances this season with Texas, with a goals-against average of 2.60 and a save percentage of .913.
The Quebec native is in his second pro season, playing one game with Texas last season but spending most of the year split between the ECHL’s Missouri Mavericks and Bakersfield Condors. Lagace has a 2.85 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage in 28 career ECHL games.
“Max is a big goalie who moves well and has a calming presence in the net,” said Graham.
Lagace joins fellow Quebec-native Philippe Desrosiers to form the Steelheads’ goaltending tandem. He is on the third year of an NHL contract with the Dallas Stars.
The Steelheads and Solar Bears drop the puck tonight at 5pm MT, looking for their third consecutive road win.
The Steelheads return home to CenturyLink Arena on December 2nd to face the Florida Everblades. For single-game tickets or for information on season ticket plans, contact the Idaho Steelheads at 208-383-0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com.
