Boise, ID (10/02/15) – There were three new additions at Steelheads training camp during Tuesday’s practice at Idaho IceWorld. Defenseman Zack Kamrass and forwards Cam Braes and Emil Molin arrived in Idaho and took part in their first practice Tuesday.
Both Braes and Molin were assigned to the Steelheads on Monday afternoon by the AHL’s Texas Stars.
Kamrass, 24, returns to the Steelheads after finishing last season playing in six games with Idaho. Kamrass netted two goals and added three assists on the Steelheads blue line, as well as two assists in six playoff games. He joined the team at the end of his senior season at UMass-Lowell, where Kamrass served as captain and tallied 64 points (13 goals, 51 assists) in 147 games across four seasons.
Molin and Braes are both taking their first turn with the Steelheads. Molin, 22, is a former fourth-round draft pick of the Dallas Stars in 2011. The native of Gavle, Sweden spent the 2014-15 season with Rogle BK in the HockeyAllsvenskan league in Sweden, collecting nine assists in 50 regular season games and a goal and three assists in ten playoff games. Molin is preparing for his first pro season in North America.
Braes, 24, played center the past three seasons at the University of New Brunswick, racking up 69 points (26 goal, 43 assists) in 82 games and being named to the 2014-15 CIS All-Tournament team with seven points (two goals, five assists) in seven playoff games. Braes also totaled 240 points in 350 Western Hockey League games with the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Moose Jaw Warriors from 2007-2012.
