Idaho deals rights to defenseman to Greenville

Boise, ID (9/2/2015) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced Wednesday afternoon that the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads have dealt the rights to defenseman Charlie Dodero to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.

The Steelheads, in exchange, will receive a player to be named at a later date.

The 22-year-old blue-liner was on his way to a career year with the Steelheads last season, posting 12 points and 81 penalty minutes in just 33 games, before being loaned to Syracuse of the American Hockey League, where he spent the remainder of the season.  In all, Dodero skated in 88 games as a Steelhead, notching eight goals, 28 assists and 172 penalty minutes.

The Steelheads open the regular season on Friday, October 16, at home against the Rapid City Rush.  It is the first of 36 home games, each of which will be played at CenturyLink Arena.
