Boise, ID (8/27/2015) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Neil Graham announced Thursday that the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with forward Andrew Carroll.
The 30-year-old appeared in 36 regular-season games with Idaho during the 2012-13 season, notching 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists). He also appeared in 15 playoff games that season, scoring three goals and adding five assists along the way. He came up big in Game 6 of Idaho’s first-round playoff series that season, scoring the game-tying goal with less than two minutes left in regulation and the game-winning goal less than two minutes into overtime to clinch the series and advance the team to the Western Conference semifinals.
Coach Graham on Carroll: “He’s a player who leads by example, he competes at a very high level on every shift. He will play in all situations for us and will be a big part of the team’s success this season.”
Carroll has appeared in 188 ECHL games in his career along with 148 at the American Hockey League level, the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America. He has also appeared in over 60 postseason games as a pro, dating back to the 2008-09 season.
He’s the fourth player to agree to terms with previous playing experience in Idaho, joining Colton Beck, Jake Rutt and Rob Linsmayer.
The Steelheads open the regular season on Friday, October 16, at home against the Rapid City Rush. It is the first of 36 home games, each of which will be played at CenturyLink Arena.
Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting as low as $275 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season packages are also available. Contact the Idaho Steelheads at 208-383-0080 for more information or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com.
