Boise, ID (6/30/2015) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Tuesday that defenseman Jake Rutt has agreed to terms with the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads for the 2015-16 season.
The 24-year-old Rutt turned pro late last season, joining the Steelheads for the stretch run and postseason after wrapping up his college career at the University of Maine, where he served as the alternate captain for the Black Bears during his senior season. The left-shot blue-liner found his feet as a professional quickly, posting an impressive plus-15 plus/minus rating in the fifteen total games he played with Idaho.
Rutt is the first player to agree to an ECHL contract with the Steelheads for the upcoming season. The team will announce its list of qualifying contract offers to other players later this week.
The Steelheads open the regular season on Friday, October 16, at home against the Rapid City Rush. It is the first of 36 home games for the team, each of which will be played at CenturyLink Arena.
Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting as low as $275 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season packages are also available. Contact the Idaho Steelheads at 208-383-0080 for more information or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com.
