Boise, ID (3/10/2015) – The Idaho Steelheads, in conjunction with the ECHL, announced Tuesday that forward Brett Robinson has been named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for March 2 – 8.
It’s the first weekly honor in the six-year pro career of the 30-year-old forward. He netted a pair of goals, added six assists and had a plus/minus rating of plus-6 in three wins over the Stockton Thunder. On Robinson’s behalf, a case of pucks will be donated to an Idaho youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL
Robinson is averaging a point per game, with 40 points (18 goals, 22 assists) in 40 games so far this season for the Steelheads. The 40 points sets a new career-high and 18 goals is just two away from his career-best of 20. He also ranks second on the Steelheads team with a plus/minus rating of plus-20.
He had an assist on Jason Bast’s game-tying goal late in the third period on Monday night to extend his team-best point streak to nine consecutive games.
This marks the 14th time a Steelheads player has earned the weekly award. The last to do it was Anthony Nigro in October 2013.
Idaho wraps up a five-game homestand on Wednesday night, hosting the Bakersfield Condors at 7:10 PM at CenturyLink Arena. All Wednesday home games are Dollar Beer Night, courtesy of Bud Light. Small beers are just one dollar through the end of the second period.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of Lays chips with each ticket.
