Boise, ID (3/4/2015) – The ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads will break out special jerseys for the second time this season, this time donning black and pink sweaters to raise money for St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute as part of the team’s “Pink in the Rink” weekend on Friday and Saturday.
The jerseys will be auctioned off during the team’s games on March 6 and 7 against the Stockton Thunder. Fans are encouraged to bid on their favorite jersey via silent auction behind Section 113, directly across from the main entry to CenturyLink Arena, and fans have the opportunity to buy their favorite jersey outright for $1,500. Bidding ends at the end of the second intermission on Saturday and winning bidders have the opportunity to get their jersey directly from the player who wore it near the team’s bench after the game.

One hundred percent of the bids go directly to St. Luke’s – the Steelheads do not keep a single penny. Dating back to 1998, the Steelheads have raised over $480,000 via specialty jersey auctions for local charities and non-profit organizations, meaning fans have the opportunity to push the team over a half-million dollars in money raised via jersey auctions. The team’s previous jersey auction this season raised nearly $16,000.
Idaho opens a five-game, seven-day homestand Wednesday night, hosting the Stockton Thunder for Dollar Beer Night, presented by Bud Light. Tickets for Wednesday’s game – or any Steelheads home game – can be purchased online at www.idahosteelheads.com.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise.
