Boise, ID (1/30/15) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced a series of roster moves Friday morning as the team prepared for its game on the road in Ontario, CA.
First, defenseman Patrick Cullity has re-joined the team after being released from his professional tryout contract with Springfield of the American Hockey League. The 28-year-old has a plus-19 rating with Idaho in 34 games this season after being named the team’s Defenseman of the Year last season.
Also, forward Taylor Peters has been assigned to Idaho by the NHL’s Dallas Stars for the second time this season. Peters, 23, appeared in three games with Idaho earlier this season but has spent the bulk of his season with the team’s AHL affiliate, Texas, where he has skated in 27 games.
Finally, the Steelheads have acquired defenseman Shawn Boutin (boo-tan) from the Stockton Thunder in exchange for rookie blue-liner Colin Shea. The 24-year-old Boutin is in his fourth professional season, having spent the bulk of his career with Stockton, including 41 games this season. He was a part of Stockton’s team that defeated Idaho for the Western Conference championship in 2013.
Shea departs with three goals and a plus-8 rating in 29 games in his first professional season out of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
Cullity, Peters and Boutin are all expected to be in uniform for Idaho Friday night when the team takes on Ontario. Game time is 8 PM (Mtn) and can be heard live on KTIK 1350 AM in the Treasure Valley.
