Boise, ID (1/16/15) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Friday that defenseman Charlie Dodero has been loaned by the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.
The AHL is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America. The call-up is the first for the second-year blue-liner. It also marks the second Idaho defenseman this week to receive an AHL call-up – Patrick Cullity was loaned to Springfield on Monday.
The 22-year-old Dodero has three goals and nine assists for Idaho this season and leads the team with 81 penalty minutes and seven fighting majors. In all, the Illinois native has skated in 91 games in the ECHL over two seasons, 77 with Idaho, with 33 points and 178 penalty minutes.
The transaction leaves Ralph with six active defensemen for Friday’s home game against Ontario: Matt Case, Mike Dalhuisen, Eamonn McDermott, Troy Vance, Colin Shea and Drew Baker. Puck drop at CenturyLink Arena is 7:10 PM and tickets are available by calling 208-331-8497.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of chips with each ticket.
