Boise, ID (1/13/15) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced that the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads have lost one defenseman to the American Hockey League while gaining another one.
Mike Dalhuisen, 25, has joined the Steelheads after being assigned to the team by the AHL’s Texas Stars. The Netherlands native has gone back and forth between Idaho and Texas three times this season, skating in eight games with each team. He is expected to be in the lineup Tuesday night when the Steelheads host the Utah Grizzlies.
Meanwhile, Patrick Cullity, 27, has been called up from Idaho by the AHL’s Springfield Falcons. Cullity is in the midst of a career-year with Idaho, with 11 points (two goals, nine assists) and a plus-19 rating through 40 games. He’s no stranger to the AHL, having skated in 75 games at the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America in his career. Fifty-one of those games came with Springfield between 2011 and 2013.
The team has also added Drew Baker to its roster. The 28-year-old Georgia native can play both forward and defense and could make his Steelheads’ debut Tuesday night as well. Baker played two seasons for Ralph in the SPHL before Ralph became the head coach in Idaho.
The Steelheads are in the midst of a season-long, six-game homestand. After tonight’s game with Utah, the two teams meet again tomorrow night at CenturyLink Arena before the Ontario Reign come to town for games Friday and Saturday. Tickets for all Steelheads home games are available online at www.idahosteelheads.com.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of chips with each ticket.
