Boise, ID (12/3/14) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Wednesday morning that goaltender Henri Kiviaho and forward Taylor Peters have been recalled from the Idaho Steelheads by Texas of the American Hockey League.
Idaho (ECHL) and Texas (AHL) are the primary development affiliates of the NHL’s Dallas Stars.
Kiviaho, 20, is 3-2-1 on the season in net with a 2.92 goals against average and an .892 save percentage. Those numbers have been steadily dropping as a result of improved play during November. Peters, 22, appeared in three games – all on the road – with Idaho after being assigned to the Steelheads last week. He had an assist in Monday’s shootout loss in Utah.
The transactions leave Idaho with one active goaltender, Olivier Roy. The team will add Doug Melvin as an emergency back-up goaltender before tonight’s game against the Bakersfield Condors at CenturyLink Arena.
The Steelheads will be wearing specially-designed, blue-and-orange themed jerseys with the Boise State Broncos logo on the front this week. The jerseys will be auctioned off via silent auction at the game to raise money for St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital. The jerseys will be worn Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with tickets available for all three games by calling the CenturyLink Arena box office at 208-331-8497.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of chips with each ticket. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
