Boise, ID (10/24/14) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Friday morning that forward Jesse Root has re-joined the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads after being re-assigned by Texas of the American Hockey League.
Root is under contract with Texas, but had been assigned to Idaho in time for the team’s two pre-season games. The first-year pro out of Yale had a goal in the annual Season-Ticket Holder Only game and an assist on the road in Logan, UT, before being recalled to Texas.
He is with the team and expected to play Friday night when the Steelheads (1-1-0) face the Bakersfield Condors (2-2-0) at Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield. Game time is 8 PM (Mtn) and can be heard live on KTIK (1350 AM).
The Steelheads have also dealt forwards Luke Judson (Tulsa) and Pearce Eviston (Quad City) to new teams. Judson is a second-year pro who played half of last season with Idaho while Eviston is a first-year pro out of British Columbia. Both players are coming off of strong showings in Idaho’s training camp.
Idaho returns home on Wednesday, October 29, to host the Stockton Thunder. Every Wednesday home game is a Dollar Beer Night, presented by Bud Light, with small beers costing just one dollar through the end of the second period.
Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of chips with each ticket.
