Boise, ID (9/2/14) – Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Tuesday that the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads have agreed to terms with forward Colton Beck.
The 24-year-old Beck finished second at Alaska-Fairbanks in scoring as a senior, ranking third in his conference (WCHA) and tied for 35th nationally with 39 points while serving as the Nanooks’ captain. For his career, he’s one of just 31 players in UAF history to eclipse 100 career points (101). The Langley, BC, native made his professional debut last spring, appearing in three games for the St. John’s Ice Caps of the American Hockey League. The AHL is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America.
Beck is the sixth rookie to be added to Ralph’s training camp roster, joining fellow forwards Jason Bast and Kyle Gibbons along with defensemen Eamonn McDermott, Quinn Sproule and Colin Shea. Training camp opens for the Steelheads on October 6 with the regular-season home opener coming on Saturday, October 18, at CenturyLink Arena in Boise.
Season tickets for the 2014-15 season are already on sale, starting at just $275 to secure the same seat for all 36 home games. There are also partial-season plans available for fans seeking more flexibility. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log on to www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
