Idaho acquires blue-liner from San Francisco

Boise, ID (11/25/13) ? Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Monday that the Idaho Steelheads traded forward Tyler Gron to the San Francisco Bulls in exchange for defenseman Damon Kipp. Kipp, 25, is in his second full professional season after playing college hockey at the University of New Hampshire. In 16 games with the Bulls, the Salmon Arm, BC, product had four assists and six penalty minutes. As a rookie, Kipp notched five goals and a plus-8 rating for the ECHL?s South Carolina Stingrays last season. He had 45 points in his four-year college career at UNH and served as the team captain his senior season. Gron had three goals in 14 games this season for Idaho after netting 21 tallies in 34 games last season. Like Kipp, he?s a second-year pro out of Northern Michigan. Kipp is expected to join the Steelheads in time for Tuesday?s home game against the Las Vegas Wranglers at CenturyLink Arena. Game time is 7:10 PM and tickets are available by calling the CenturyLink Arena box office at 208-331-8497.  Group outings at a Steelheads game are a great way to gather friends, colleagues, or co-workers for a fun night out in downtown Boise. Ticket prices are discounted and you can get a Pepsi, Double-R Ranch Hot Dog, and bag of Tim?s Cascade Chips with each ticket. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 for more information.
