Meisner blanks Steelheads in pre-season finale

Boise, ID (10/12/13) - Ben Meisner came up with saves on each of Idaho's 31 shots Saturday night as the Utah Grizzlies defeated the Idaho Steelheads, 2-0, in front of 4,294 fans at CenturyLink Arena in the annual "Season-Ticket Holder Only Night."Tyler Hinds and Kris Hogg each scored goals to spoil an otherwise-strong effort in net for Idaho's Pat Nagle, who stopped 21 of 23 shots between the pipes for the Steelheads.Idaho's best chance to change the outcome came late in the second period when a David deKastrozza shot sailed just over the crossbar with Meisner out of position.The game featured 15 minor penalties, 14 combined power plays and a lot of testy moments as players from each team took issue with actions of others.The Steelheads concluded the pre-season with one win and one loss. Idaho and Utah will meet again on Friday, October 18, to open the regular season at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, UT.
