Boise, ID (5/1/13) - The Idaho Steelheads and Stockton Thunder will meet for the 2013 ECHL Western Conference championship and a berth in the Kelly Cup Finals, beginning on Friday at CenturyLink Arena in Boise. The Steelheads secured their position in the Conference Finals, presented by KeyBank, by defeating the Colorado Eagles in the Conference Quarterfinals and Ontario Reign in the Conference Semifinals, each in six games. Stockton advanced past Las Vegas in a seven-game quarterfinal series before defeating top-seeded Alaska in six games in the semifinals. Tickets for Games 1 and 2 of the series in Boise are already on sale at the CenturyLink Arena box office or by going online to www.idahosteelheads.com. The 5:10 start time is the first non-7:10 game the Steelheads have played at home in over two seasons. The Steelheads and Thunder met five times during the regular season with Stockton winning three of those games. However, just one was played in Boise - a 4-2 Idaho win on November 14 - and each of the five games was decided by two goals or less. The two teams have met twice before in the Kelly Cup playoffs. Idaho defeated Stockton in the opening round of the 2004 postseason and also in the 2010 Western Conference Finals. Season Tickets for the 2013-14 season are already on sale!
