Cullity called up, Ryder activated

Boise, ID (3/11/13) ? Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Monday that defenseman Patrick Cullity has been recalled from the ECHL?s Idaho Steelheads to the American Hockey League. Also, defenseman John Ryder has been activated from the 21-day Injured Reserve and will travel with the team to Alaska this week. Cullity was recalled by Springfield of the AHL, who then dealt the 26-year-old blue-liner to St. John?s. He?ll join the IceCaps in time for their game Friday at Hamilton. Idaho retains Cullity?s ECHL rights so, if he returns to the ECHL this season, he would return to Idaho. In 37 games with Idaho at the ECHL level, the steady Cullity has 13 points (three goals, ten assists) and 30 penalty minutes. He appeared in seven games with Springfield over two previous callups during the season prior to the trade. Ryder, 24, last appeared in a game on December 30 at Las Vegas. The rookie has played in 19 games, registering a plus/minus rating of plus-7 along the way in his first season out of the University of Denver. With Ryder?s activation, Ralph has six defensemen on his current roster ? Ryder, Scott Todd, Jeremie Blain, Ken Trentowski, William Lacasse, and James Isaacs. Idaho travels to Anchorage this week for games Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday against the conference-leading Alaska Aces. The team returns home next week for its final homestand of the regular season beginning on Wednesday, March 20, against the Ontario Reign. Thinking about new Season Tickets for the 2013-14 season?
