Boise, ID (1/16/13) ? Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Tuesday morning that forward Mathieu Tousignant has been reassigned from the Idaho Steelheads to the Texas Stars by the NHL?s Dallas Stars. Idaho (ECHL) and Texas (AHL) are the primary development affiliates of the NHL?s Dallas Stars. Tousignant has 19 points (four goals, 15 assists) in 28 games for the Steelheads, including a career-best four-point game in a win over Bakersfield on January 5. The 23-year-old Quebec native also ranks among the Steelheads? team leaders with 77 penalty minutes. The fourth-year pro spent the last two seasons with Texas in the AHL after splitting his rookie season between Idaho and Texas in 2009-10. The Steelheads have now seen ten players advance from Idaho to the American Hockey League ? the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America ? in the past month: Kael Mouillierat, Patrick Cullity, Hubert Labrie, Jace Coyle, Austin Smith, Gord Baldwin, Justin Dowling, Jeremie Blain, Tyler Beskorowany and Tousignant. Idaho returns home on Friday, January 18, to host the Alaska Aces at CenturyLink Arena. Group nights are a great way to get family, friends, co-workers and colleagues together in downtown Boise at a discounted price. Groups can also include a Double-R Ranch hot dog, Tim?s Cascade Chips, and a small Pepsi. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 or log onto www.idahosteelheads.com for more information.
