Idaho adds nine players from AHL teams

Boise, ID (10/8/12) ? Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced a series of additions to the training camp roster for the ECHL?s Idaho Steelheads on Monday. • Idaho?s NHL affiliate, the Dallas Stars, has re-assigned goaltender Tyler Beskorowany and forward Tristan King from the Texas Stars to Idaho. ? Texas, Idaho?s American Hockey League affiliate, has assigned goaltender Josh Robinson and defenseman John Ryder to Idaho. ? Texas has also released defenseman Matt Case from its training camp, along with forwards Andrew Carroll, Austin Fyten, and Jacob Cepis, clearing the way for all four to join Idaho?s training camp. ? The AHL?s Chicago Wolves have assigned defenseman Jeremie Blain to Idaho. Nine players in all have been added to Head Coach Brad Ralph?s training-camp roster. Beskorowany, King, Case, and Cepis should be familiar to Idaho fans. Beskorowany was an ECHL All Star two seasons ago and the ECHL Goaltender of the Month with Idaho in January 2011 before spending all of last season with Texas of the AHL. King split last season between Idaho and Ontario of the ECHL, registering a career-best 41 points in 45 games along the way. Cepis led Idaho in scoring with 45 points as a rookie last season while Case was the team?s co-Defensive Player of the Year. Carroll and Fyten will be spending their first seasons with Idaho. Carroll has spent the past two seasons in the American Hockey League but put up 30 goals at the ECHL level in 2009-10. Fyten, 21, is a first-year pro out of major-junior hockey in the Western Hockey League. He tallied 122 points (55 goals) over four seasons in the WHL. Both players are on ECHL-level contracts. Robinson and Ryder are both on AHL contracts and will both be making their professional debuts. Robinson posted a 2.83 goals-against average as a senior at Michigan Tech while Ryder led the Denver University team in hits in two of his final three seasons at the school. Blain, 20, spent the past four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League after being a fourth-round draft pick of the NHL?s Edmonton Oilers in 2010. Over the final 29 games of the QMJHL season with Victoriaville, Blain had 26 points (three goals, 23 assists) and a plus-25 plus/minus rating. The 16th season of professional hockey in Boise kicks off on Friday, October 12, when the Idaho Steelheads host the Utah Grizzlies at CenturyLink Arena. Season Ticket packages are available now, starting at just $275 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season packages start at as little as $150 for fans who want a little more flexibility.
