Several were voted on by the players themselves, two by the staff, and the others were selected based on statistics. First, those based on statistics: Cal Ingraham Leading Scorer ? Ian Lowe Those voted on by the team?s players: Most Inspirational ? Marty Flichel Most Improved ? Chad Nehring Unsung Hero ? Chad Nehring Defenseman of the Year (tie) ? Kory Scoran, Matt Case, and Michael Gergen Rookie of the Year ? Jerry Kuhn MVP ? Jerry Kuhn The Idaho Steelheads embark on their 15th playoff chase in 15 years of professional hockey in southern Idaho this coming week with a first-round, best-of-five playoff series against either the Las Vegas Wranglers or Ontario Reign.
