Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Hardy Sauter announced Wednesday morning that defenseman Jace Coyle has been reassigned from the Idaho Steelheads to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League. Coyle, 21, is under contract with the NHL?s Dallas Stars. Idaho (ECHL) and Texas (AHL) are the primary development affiliates of the Dallas stars. Coyle is in his first professional season after spending the previous three seasons playing major junior hockey with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League. The Cranbrook, BC, product has skated in 13 games with Idaho, registering two assists. He has also appeared in 17 games with Texas, picking up one assist thusfar at the AHL level. The Steelheads are on the road this weekend in northern California to take on the Stockton Thunder. Game time Friday and Saturday night is 8:30 PM (Mtn) and can be heard in the Treasure Valley on KTIK (1350 AM). Idaho returns home on February 8 to open a three-game homestand against the defending Kelly Cup champion Alaska Aces.
