(Boise, ID) ? Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Hardy Sauter announced several more roster changes on Wednesday, including the return of goaltender Jerry Kuhn. The team also signed high-scoring forward Jacob Cepis out of Minnesota and released goaltender Steve Christie and forward Adam Huxley. Kuhn was assigned to the Steelheads by the New York Rangers organization after beginning the season with Greenville in the ECHL. He made his professional debut last spring with the Steelheads and went on to play a leading role in the team reaching the ECHL?s Western Conference semifinals in the playoffs. He tied the team record with 48 saves in his first playoff start, followed it up with 44 in his second playoff start, and wound up posting a 1.83 goals-against average in nine post-season starts with Idaho. He was signed by the Rangers organization in the offseason and initially assigned to Greenville after going to training camp with the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League. Cepis, 24, led the Golden Gophers in scoring last season with 29 points (12 goals, 17 assists) in 36 games in the tough Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), which includes perennial NCAA hockey powers like North Dakota and Denver. Ian Lowe (Bemidji State) and Kael Mouillierat (Minnesota State) also played college hockey in the WCHA. Cepis began his professional career last spring with Lake Erie of the American Hockey League before beginning this season in Europe. To create room on the roster, the Steelheads released goaltender Steve Christie (0-1, .872 save percentage) and forward Adam Huxley (24 PIMs in 4 games). Huxley scored 11 goals, handed out 24 assists, and accumulated 322 penalty minutes in his previous two seasons with Idaho. Sauter also placed defenseman Derek Matheson on the 3-Day Injured List. Forwards Cody Purves and Marc Rancourt were both moved to the 21-Day Injured List. Steelhead Season-Ticket Holders get six games FREE when they sign up for full-season packages.
