(Boise, ID) - Six former Idaho Steelheads players will be in training camp with the Dallas Stars when the NHL team opens camp on Saturday, September 17, on Prince Edward Island, Canada.Forwards Tom Wandell, Francis Wathier, Mathieu Tousignant, and Luke Gazdic will be joined by goaltenders Richard Bachman and Tyler Beskorowany, competing for a job with the NHL club.Tousignant, Gazdic, Bachman, and Beskorowany have all played in Idaho within the last two seasons. Wathier was a member of Idaho's 2007 Kelly Cup championship team and Wandell appeared with the Steelheads during the 2007-08 season.Idaho's American Hockey League affiliate, the Texas Stars, open training camp on September 26. Several players with ties to the Steelheads are expected to be on Texas's training-camp roster, which hasn't been announced yet.Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Hardy Sauter will open Idaho's training camp on Monday, October 3, at CenturyLink Arena in downtown Boise. The Steelheads will host a Season Ticket Holder Only exhibition game against the Utah Grizzlies on Friday, October 7, before opening the regular season the following weekend.Idaho's first game of the regular season is Friday, October 14, in Utah. The two teams will then travel up to Boise for the Steelheads' regular-season home opener on Saturday, October 15.Steelhead Season-Ticket Holders get six games FREE when they sign up for full-season packages.
