Beskorowany, King, Tassone invited to NHL Prospects Tournament

(Boise, ID) ? Three players who competed for the ECHL?s Idaho Steelheads during the 2010-2011 season have been selected by the NHL?s Dallas Stars for the 2011 NHL Prospect Tournament in Traverse City, MI. The Stars are one of eight NHL clubs participating. Dallas is the NHL affiliate of the Steelheads. Goaltender Tyler Beskorowany, forward Tristan King, and forward Matt Tassone will all compete for the Stars in Traverse City. The tournament runs from September 10 ? 14 at the Center Ice Arena. The 20-year-old Beskorowany was an ECHL All-Star with Idaho last season, consistently ranking among the league leaders in save percentage and goals-against average in his 20 games with the Steelheads before being reassigned to Texas of the American Hockey League. He was named the ECHL Goaltender of the Month in January. Tassone, 21, had seven goals in 32 games with Idaho last season before his season was cut short due to an injury. He was just starting to find a groove in his first professional season, having picked up points in six of eight games in January prior to the injury. King, who turns 21 this fall, also saw his season ended prematurely due to injury. He had 13 points in 24 regular-season games but was strong in the playoffs, including a pair of goals in a deciding Game-5 victory over Las Vegas in the first round of the ECHL playoffs, before being knocked from the lineup in the Western Conference semifinals. First-round draft choices Scott Glennie (2009), Jack Campbell (2010), and Jamieson Oleksiak (2011) are also on the roster for Dallas. Steelhead Season-Ticket Holders get six games FREE when they sign up for full-season packages. Plans for all 36 home games start at just $275 per seat. Partial-season plans are also available. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 for more information.
