The Idaho Steelheads (13-10-6) snapped their three-game losing streak and four-game winless streak with a 3-1 win over the Western Conference- leading Utah Grizzlies (15-9-4) in Utah Wednesday night. Kael Mouillierat returned from his one-game suspension and tallied a goal and an assist. The Steelheads scored first on a five-on-three power play when Aki Seitsonen received a pass to the side of the Utah net and buried the puck past goalie Jean-Philippe Lamoureux at 2:25 of the opening period. Seitsonen?s goal was his third of the season, and was assisted by Cody Lampl and Kael Mouillierat. Kael Mouillierat- returning from a one-game suspension- extended Idaho?s lead to 2-0 when he capitalized on a Grizzlies turnover 11 seconds into the middle frame. Mouillierat?s goal was his 13th of the year, and was assisted by Mark Derlago, as Mouillierat collected the puck and deked to his backhand to beat Lamoureux. Utah found life at 17:01 of the third period when Nick Tuzzolino netted a slapshot from the point immediately following a faceoff to pull Utah to within a goal. John Swanson added an empty-netter for the Idaho Steelheads in the game?s final minute to secure the win for the Steelheads. Jase Weslosky stopped 38 of 39 shots in the Idaho net; he is now 2-2-0. Jean-Philippe Lamoureux turned away 12 of 14 shots for Utah; he is 8-6-1 for the Grizzlies. Next up for the Idaho Steelheads is a pair in Anchorage against the Alaska Aces on December 28th and 29th.
