(Boise, ID) ? Head coach and director of hockey operations Hardy Sauter announced Wednesday that defenseman Mike Gabinet has been placed on team suspension as he pursues professional opportunities overseas. Also, forwards Marty Flichel (21-day) and Adam Huxley (7-day) have been placed on the injured-reserve list by the team. Gabinet had 14 points (four goals, ten assists) in 26 games with the Steelheads. It was his second tour of duty with the team, having also skated for Idaho during the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons. In all, the 29-year-old Edmonton native appeared in 86 games with the Steelheads, netting ten goals and adding 39 assists from the blue line. By placing him on team suspension, the Steelheads will retain Gabinet?s ECHL rights for the remainder of the season. The Steelheads return home Friday, December 31, and Saturday, January 1, to host the Bakersfield Condors at Qwest Arena. Friday night is a 4-for-$44 promotion, where fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, and four Pepsis for just $44. Contact the Steelheads front office at 208.383.0080 for more information.
