Another big year for jersey auctions

Three jersey auctions, where the fans could literally take the game-worn jersey from their favorite player, raised $27,556 for local charities and causes during the 2009-2010 season. • ?Future Stars? for St. Luke?s - Elk?s Children?s Rehab: $7,000. High bid - $450 for Adam Huxley?s jersey. ? ?Men?s Health Awareness? for St. Luke?s Mountain States Tumor Institute: $8,800. High Bid - $700 for Adam Huxley?s jersey. ? ?Bring Back Bonk Throwbacks? for Muscular Dystrophy Association: $11,756. High Bid - $900 for Adam Huxley?s jersey. ?Once again, our fans answered the bell,? Steelheads president Eric Trapp said. ?They make these auctions work which, in turn, helps make our community a better place to be.? The Steelheads have now raised $326,338 for the local community via jersey auctions. The first jersey auction was during the 1998-1999 season, the organization?s second season.
