Okay, so it wasn't a shutout, but it was close. One night after shutting out the Hamilton Bulldogs, Idaho Steelheads netminder Richard Bachman held the Syracuse Crunch off the scorebord until well into the third period, helping the Texas Stars defeat the Syracuse Crunch, 3-1, Wednesday night. He stopped 23 of 24 shots en route to the win. Bachman is on recall from the Steelheads to Texas of the American Hockey League, which is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America. Idaho and Texas are the primary development affiliates of the NHL's Dallas Stars. The 22-year-old goaltender now has four starts in the American League this year and is 3-1 with a 1.25 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage. He has allowed one goal or fewer in three of his four starts with Texas.
