Texas sends Gazdic to Idaho

Texas sends Gazdic to Idaho

(Boise, ID) ? Rookie left wing Luke Gazdic has been sent by the AHL?s Texas Stars to the Idaho Steelheads and is expected to be in the lineup when Idaho hosts Ontario on Wednesday. Gazdic energized local fans in a brief appearance with the Steelheads at the end of the 2008-2009 season, scoring a goal and picking up two fighting majors in the regular-season finale. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Gazdic is on contract with the NHL?s Dallas Stars after being selected in the sixth round of the 2007 draft. He has appeared in 17 games with the AHL?s Texas Stars this season, scoring a goal and accumulating 55 penalty minutes along the way. The 21-year-old also played 188 junior-hockey games in the Ontario Hockey League, totaling 42 goals and 407 penalty minutes. Idaho is back on home ice Wednesday, December 9, when they host the Ontario Reign for ?Future Stars Weekend.? Tickets are available at the Qwest Arena box office or by calling 208.331.TIXS.
