Game Preview: Boise at Tri-Cities

Matchup: Boise Burn (8-2, 2nd place, West Division) at Tri-Cities Fever (1-9 (5th place, West Division). Saturday, 8 PM (Mtn), Kennewick, WA. Head to Head: This is the third meeting between the Burn and Fever, with Boise winning the first two. Boise won in Tri-Cities in late March and then tied a franchise record with 77 points in a victory at home on May 16. Get to know? Fever quarterback Tomotsuna Inoue. It?s been a revolving door under center for the Fever this season and Inoue, an international product out of Waseda University in Japan, looks like he?ll be the guy to get the start against Boise this week. If that happens, it?ll be the third different starter in three meetings between these two teams (Joe Ayoob, Ryan Porter). Inoue, the fourth different starter the Fever have tried in ten games overall, threw for 312 yards and four scores last week against Stockton. But he?s also been intercepted four times in just 75 attempts this season. Walker gets the call: Fullback Damian Walker has gotten praise all season from head coach Brent Winter for his work as, essentially, a fourth offensive lineman for the Burn. Last Saturday, Walker got a chance for some face time. The af2 veteran set a Burn single-game record with four rushing touchdowns in Boise?s win over Central Valley. The banner game brought Walker?s season total to nine rushing touchdowns?one away from tying the franchise?s single-season record. Special Sanders: Second-year defensive back Terrence Sanders has become an absolute menace to opposing teams on kick returns, averaging a league-best 32.1 yards per kickoff return? on a 50-yard field. That?s roughly the equivalent of an NFL or college returner averaging in the neighborhood of 60 yards per return. He?s found the end zone six times on kickoffs so far this season?matching the entire franchise?s total output in the first two seasons. On the Air: All 16 Boise Burn football games are carried live in the Treasure Valley by KGEM 1140 (AM) with Scott Conklin handling the play-by-play duties.
